In the last paragraph, the point of view shifts to the District Comissioner (DC), and is presented as a narrative. This shift enables to author to provide a commentary illustrating the Western viewpoint held by Europeans. The DC's story would be far different than the one we've read.... a story of the African man, his cultures and traditions..... a story that excludes the negatives, the destruction, the loss of tribal institutions, as well as the voids created by those who colonized.
