What is an ignorant(ignorance) on the book Things Fall Apart ?

"Ignorance" can have so many connotations within the context of this book. It is difficult to know what you are looking for. There is ignorance on the part of the Europeans as well as the Igbo. They really do not understand each other's language or motivations. Certainly Okonkwo is ignorant about emotion or acts of kindness. Okonkwo views any empathy or even sympathy with scorn: he sees these feelings as weak and feminine. Okonkwo's emotional ignorance is plagues him throughout the novel.
