Nwakibie is a wealthy man in Okonkwo's village and it was he, that okonkwo had went to for help telling him he had a farm but no yams to sow. Nwakibie usually refused other young men, but not okonkwo because he trusted and was convinced that okonkwo would work hard. thus, he gave him twice as much he had asked for.
