Why did Uchendu talk to Okonkwo about the Mother Supreme?

Uchendu wanted Okonkwo to see that in reality his despair wasn't so bad, that he needed to pick up and see to the comfort of his family and that he needed to support them. He told him that if he refused comfort in the boundaries of his mother's homeland it would be displeasing to the dead.
