Why the three friends decided never to be 'uppish in the regard to choosing hotel again with reeference to the incident in the watchet?

The incident with finding in rooms for the night was meant to be amusing. The men were anything but "uppish" in their search for shelter. All of the rooming houses and inns were full.... even the grocer had too many guests. The men thought they'd found a haven in the little boys home until they experienced the sleeping arrangements.
