Why can't I select a thumbnail for my tiktok video?

I looked up how to select a thumbnail for your tiktok video, and apparently you're supposed to be able to choose it before you upload. However, when I tap on "select a thumbnail" the option to select on the bottom does not appear for me. I own an android phone and my app has been recently updated. Is there any way I can fix this?
