I can give you a general comment. The most serious mistake the man makes is underestimating the power of nature. The natural world is very unforgiving. The man should have not even ventured into the frigid cold, especially alone. He should have heeded nature's warnings like his dog's reluctance to carry on. When he got his foot wet, he should have stayed and made camp instead of forging ahead further. When he finally decided to make camp, he made the mistake of lighting a fire under a snow covered tree thus extinguishing his fire in short order.
