To Build a Fire
Does Jack London like the man in the story? Does he feel sympathy for him? for him
How do you feel about him?
How do you feel about him?
No. London does not feel sympathy for the man in the story. Jack London spent an enormous amount of time in the Yukon and had great respect for the nature and environment around him. He wouldn't have sympathized with someone who didn't have the patience to learn or the good sense to take the advice of those more experienced. But he did concede that men like this exist.
I've place a direct link below for an article I've written on this short story.
