I think this is one of those rare films that catch the mood, character, and era of the book.This is one reason why this film has never been re-made. The setting and character lives up to the expectations of most readers. The authenticity of rural small town Maycomb stir the same imagination that the book conveys. The small black church, paved and un-paved streets, and characteristic old houses all add to the impact of the film.
