Bob Ewell is a poor man with nine children. He is lazy, has no desire to work, and spends his welfare checks on alcohol..... leaving his children without food. Ewell lives with his family in a shack just outside of the dump. He is described as evil and ignorant. During the trial, Bob acquires a grudge again Atticus, who is defending Tom Robinson. He attacks Atticus' children at the end of the novel and is killed by Boo, who is protecting Scout and Jem.
