The significance of this quote is that when you see someone cheat someone or talk down to them (and you'll see it all the time), they aren't what they seem. Having nice clothes and a big house doesn't give anyone the right to that kind of behavior..... and no matter how much money or prestige that person has...... the way the speak makes tham nothing more than white trash.
