Scout is now angry, Aunt Alexandra has been disrespected, Atticus is humiliated that his daughter would speak that way to her Aunt, and Jem takes on the role of a more mature, older brother by giving his sister sound advice and telling her not to antagonize because their father is stressed over the Tom Robinson case.
