The most significant event here is probably Atticus' explanation of the term "n*****-lover." He calls it as he sees it: namely, a term that ignorant and insecure people use to try to feel better about themselves. Another fascinating exchange is with Calpurnia, who explains her willingness to use colloquialisms in her speech even though she is actually quite eloquent.
