how did the black community respond to the trail?

They all stood in respect for Atticus even though he lost the trial, Jean Louise, Stand Up, Your Father's Passing' . Later the black community filled Atticus' kitchen with food that they could not afford to give. I think the community expected the verdict from a white jury.
