How do Scout and Jem learn to deal with the hypocrisy and blindness in Maycomb at the end of the novel?

I think they practice what Atticus had taught them all along. They try to see past people's hypocrisy and look for goodness. They try to lead by example and appeal to the good in people rather than just hating the whole person.
