Scout is not racist, but she does grow up in a racist culture. Her language is not meant to demean, but rather, a product of this racist culture, even so far as some of her more objectionable speech is attributed to what Calpurnia has said in their home, An example of this can be found in when she tells Dill, “Don’t you believe a word he says, Dill,” I said. “Calpurnia says that’s niggertalk.”
Scout is a loving, caring, open child, who extends her good will toward others. She is NOT a racist.
