To Kill a Mockingbird
"It was times like these when i thought my father, who hated guns and had never been to any wars, was the bravest man who ever lived"
said by Scout.

Scout recalls meeting Atticus by the post box. They would pass Mrs. Dubose house and he would give her a friendly greeting. Scout now realizes, after all that has happened, that her father is the bravest man she knows. Despite his loathing of guns and violence, her father has the moral fortitude to stand up for what is right and put a smile on the face a bitter suffering old lady.
