Atticus is my literary hero. He models the heroic traits of a true humanist. A person must stand up for what they believe in: they must stand up for what is right, even in the face of mass disapproval. Often these heroes pay a steep price for their beliefs but, like Atticus, a conscience is necessary to make the world a better place.
