in chapter 17, what is Jem convinced of at the end of this chapter? Is Scout convinced? Why or why not?

Jem is convinces the Jury has to find Tom innocent. Atticus's evidence is just to overwhelming to think otherwise. Scout is not so sure about this. She knows that racism plays heavily in this trial.
