Mr. Gilmer treats Tom like a boy that has allusions to the slavery days. Tom is a grown man yet Mr. Gilmer addresses him aggressively calling him by the derogatory name "boy".
Mr.Gilmer treats Tom juts like Aslan said, he calls him " Boy ". He treats him as the inferior.
