I don't think that's the quote..... none the less; Scout is a realist, and she has a lot of common sense. She doesn't need to be told the difference between what's right and wrong because she watches and listens to the things around her. She bases her opinion of people and families for what they are. Aunt Alexandra forms her opinions of people not fir what they are, but rather for what they have.
