Scout makes three mistakes during her first day at school. What are her mistakes, and why do they make Miss Caroline so angry?

1) Scout reads the alphabet aloud.

2) Scout reads from the newspaper

3) Scout tells Miss Caroline she can write in cursive.

4) Scout explains why Walter won't take Miss Caroline's money.

Miss Caroline is upset because she's teaching the way she's been taught. Scout isn't supposed to be able to read, and she didn't learn in school..... thus, she's been taught wrong. Scout's explanation about Walter being a Cunnigham makes no sense to Miss Caroline.
