i still dont get it :/ i dont even get the question my teacher is asking me. And why is it asking "he" (atticus) isn't the question directed to scout?
This comment is made by the adult Scout in her narrative. Looking back, she understands that her father was trying to make the children understand he was only human, that we can only do so much. As children, we think our parents can do anything.
This is a very strange combination for comparison, as Scout and Tom are completely different, and outside of their innocence, they're not at all alike. Tom is man; Scout is a little girl. They come from very different backgrounds, as Tom is from the black community, and Scout from the white community.
