Scout says that "Mr. Douglas Raymond was an evil man". Is she right?

Mr. Raymond had a reputation as a "nigger-lover" and drunkard. THere is also a story that his white fiancée killed herself when she discovered her husband was having an affair with a black woman. In reality Scout discovers he is a kind man who drinks Coke instead of alcohol and just prefers the company of Negros.
