At the beginning of chapter 28 Jem and Scout walk past the Radley house on the way to the school, where the pageant and country fair will be held. This is the same house they have poked and prodded countless times before. They walk past the house as they have walked past it countless times before. The difference is that on this night, the meaning of the house and Boo Radley will change forever.

1) Scout said at the beginning that Jem's arm was broken or that he had a broken arm, and by chapter 28 Jem's arm got broken again.

2) at the beginning they couldn't stop themselves from walking around that house, and by the end they walk past the same house again.
