What did Jem do with the candy box? What did he do with the Camilla?

When Jem first opened the candy box with the camellia in it, his first reaction was that he wanted her to leave him alone. At the end of the chapter, Scout is going upstairs to bed and she sees Jem twirling the flower; Jem accepted the forgiveness from Mrs. Dubose.
