Really this racism is prevalent throughout the novel. There are many instances but the most poignant one is the fact that this jury of white older men had the audacity to find Tom Robinson guilty. It was common knowledge that Tom was innocent and Atticus put the irrefutable evidence in their faces. Still their ignorance and hate won out over their humanity.
