What is the irony about Bob Ewell's response to Mr. Gilmer's question about being ambidextrous?

The irony is that Bob answers the question backwards because he does not understand what the word means. When Atticus poses the question to Ewell, he replies: "I most positively am not, I can use one hand good as the other".
