In Ch. 9 Scout learns more about the Tom Robinson trial. She has trouble with boys like Cecil Jacobs at school who insult Atticus. Scout tries not to  fight but cannot help it when Atticus is insulted.  Uncle Jack has a talk with Scout about fighting but does not see things from Scout's point of view.
