what is walter cunigham like?

Walter has a limited take on life and Atticus knows this. Atticus tries to put Walter at ease while eating lunch. Walter doesn't say too much, he is struck by the amount of food in front of him. The Finch house is a daunting place for Walter : it is opulent compared to his own house. The lunch at the Finch house is also opulent (more good food than he usually sees at home) for Walter. Walter is just so excited to eat that he piles on the syrup onto everything and eagerly eats. Atticus talks to Walter about farm issues that Walter can relate to.
