Literature is a good thing to learn. Besides, lack of writing an essay can go off topic. Like Ava said, we develop our understanding by reading classics, discussing literature works by authors, (famous authors). Your teacher wants to see your academics succeed in life so then when you get to college, you'll be a literature writing star. My parents help me a lot and it's fun to have somebody to actually help you with an assignment. Even when it's a writing assignment. I love reading and writing and I've gotten all A+'s since the 2nd quarter in school. I'm in 6th grade and I love math.
So, for literature Christopher, we develop our understanding by reading classics, non fictional, and fictional. Literature reading is important and it's required from your teacher, so then he/she can see how much you're learning with your potential.
