why does the radleys place fascinate jem and dill and scout

The children are fascinated by the Radley property because they're not supposed to be there. It's seen by some as haunted, and Boo is a character of myth. They simply can't resist tempting fate by trespassing and hoping that while there they'll be able to unlock the mystery.
