Describe Cole's emotional state when the Spirit Bear returned

These chapters are Cole's catalyst for change. Cole is finally vulnerable both physically and emotionally. Cole's Spirit Bear has stripped him of all pretence. He lies there, torn to a bloody pulp. It is only at this point that Cole can reflect on his life and begin to change.
