How does cole feel about banishment as a punishment?

Cole acts like the consummate tough guy. Garvey turns to Cole and asks him how he feels about banishment to an island. Cole replies, "I've spent lots of time outside. It's not like I can't take care of myself." Cole actually knows next to nothing about what awaits him on the island. Garvey mentions that Cole's cockiness will end when he tries to manipulate a storm or lying to his own hunger, "Try cheating the cold".
