What does the Spirit Bear Simbolize?

 Based on the incidences and sightings of the Spirt Bear, what does the Bear symbolize, represent or stand for?

The Spirit Bear symbolizes the primal sprit of, in this case, Cole. Cole cannot manipulate the bear like he does people around him. The bear is Cole's primal identity, his link with the natural world. It takes Cole almost dying from the bear attack to realize this.
