How has Jim changed since the beginning of the book? what lessons does he take away from his adventure?
I think Jim sees human nature much more clearly. He no longer has the star struck eyes of a young boy faced with notorious men like Long John Silver or Blackbeard. Jim also sees the limitations of hero figures like Squire Trelawney. Jim also discovers that greed and treasure are not worth a man's life. He has seen far too many men sell their souls and ended their lives over this. Jim has also learned to think quickly and and be brave when called upon.
