In the movie, (and the book perhaps).....why does the ship go into a black hole, and how do they get out? I know that black holes suck in everything, even light, but never comes out........

This novel was written in the 18th century and would not have had a "black hole" - a much more modern term based on modern science. If it were in a black hole, of course it would not come out because that is what happens in black holes.
