What happened at one stage of the conversation between captain and Black Dog?

Black dog shows up and surprises the Captain. Jim lets them have a meeting, there seems to be much animosity. Then Jim hears the captain swearing a lot. The Captain chases Black Dog into the street. Both men have their swords drawn. It seems Black Dog is wounded. Black Dog runs away.
