Why did his party decide to occupy the old stockade?
Why did his party go to the stockade? The text never says why, it just says they ran into it about 100 yards walking on land.

Livesey finds a stockade that Flint’s men built near a spring many years prior. I think the stockade would have given them reinforcement and protection.
