Millie and Colman's relationship was complicated, but the love they had for one another was still clearly evident. During Colman's kid and teenage years his attitude and bad temper infuriated Millie and created a lot of tension.

When Colman finds out his mother had lied to him for years about his late father, Joss - discovering his dad was biologically a female - it creates a rift in their relationship. He ends up ignoring her phone calls and completely cuts her out his life.
