What three things happen that seem to have no connection between them at first?

In the prologue, three things happen that seem to be unrelated. First, Mae sets out for the woods at the edge of Treegap at dawn to meet her sons. Second, Winnie thinks about running away. And lastly, a stranger appears at the Fosters' door looking for someone at dusk.
