How have Morrie's life experiences shaped his attitude toward death?

Throughout his illness, Morrie displays a very positive mental attitude. He does not feel sorry for himself because his body is slowly deteriorating. He looks at the positives in his life and the things he is still able to do. His positive attitude inspires Mitch and others in the story.

Morrie believes love is everything, that having children gives you the honor of taking care of another life, and that in getting older, you in turn are once again cared for. Relationships, marriage, respect are all intertwined, compromise and acceptance are essential, and learning how to die, teaches one to live.
