What motivated Mitch to seek out his old professor again?

Mitch saw Morrie doing a television interview and realized he had little time to keep a promise he'd made to Morrie..... namely keeping in touch. Having seen that Morrie was dying, Mitch realized that didn't have much time left to keep his promise, so he started making plans immediately.
