Viola is a pretty perfect character. It is the beautiful Viola and the rather androgynous Cesario who has the most impact on characters. As Cesario, Viola is able to play both sides of the gender role to bring out true (heterosexual) feelings in the characters as well as herself. It is the gender bending Viola that carefully balances both worlds.
