Who do you think Stowe is referring to in the title of this chapter, “In Which the Reader is introduced to a Man of Humanity”?

She is referring to Mr. Haley who anything but a Man of Humanity. He is a slave buyer and his only concern is getting slaves for the best price and getting the best possible deal. The reader must remember that this novel was written to show how horrible and degrading the Southern system of slavery was so a comment such as this is loaded with irony since Stowe wanted everyone to know that people like Haley were completely inhumane.
