Walden

Walden

In what ways did Thoreau achieve his goals at walden pond? How do the central ideas in the "conclusion" explicitly connect back to the beginning of the text?

Thoreau wanted to prove that he could live simply and purposefully. He wanted to learn what nature and life had to teach him, to become a spiritual being, one with nature. The simpler the life..... the more meaningful the life. His journal seems to indicate success. This ties in with his original suppositions in earlier chapters.
