Did Ngugi include dialect in his novel?

Did Ngugi uses kikuyu dialect words in Weep Not Child? or was it a pure English?

A bit of research has returned the fact that the dialect of Gikuyu is used in the novel. I am not sure of the accuracy of this answer.
