Mr. Benson says that they found the dogs but are covered with ice.

Billy was horrified because he thought little Ann and Old Dan were dead because Mr Benson said they were covered with ice in the blizzard in the Cyclone Timber. They were not dead although they were covered with ice as they kept running circling the tree as the coon was treed.
