I think "sleep" has to do with the eternal sleep. They have fought and now they are going to die, "Yesterday through me as you jabbed and killed.
I parried; but my hands were loath and cold. Let us sleep now..." The eternal sleep is where they can free themselves of this silly animosity that has been inflicted on them; they can finally be brothers.
