Via loves her family and will always look out for her younger brother, but she wants nothing more than to establish her own identity.... one outside of being Auggie's sister. Note, Via doesn't resent the attention Auggie receives, but she doesn;t feel special.... and the only person who'd ever made her feel special was her grandmother, who has passed away.
